william elliott whitmore - have mercy

i have no problem admitting that i'm late on the william elliott whitmore bandwagon. i'm not exactly sure why i never checked him out but all i've been listening to the past couple days is his stuff. just imagine bruce springsteen meets tom waits and you'll have a pretty accurate idea of what he sounds like. the track i'm posting comes from his "latitudes" ep that was released last year via southern records. be on the look out for his new full length "song of the blackbird" due to come out sometime in september.

grizzly bear - central and remote

i realize i've been slacking with the updates and i apologize but here's something that will hopefully make up for it. it's a track from the sophomore album by grizzly bear entitled "yellow house". it's due out in september via warp records. the band also recently put out a 12" on audraglint records entitled "sorry for the delay" which collects some of their earlier recordings. highly recommended for fans of animal collective and castanets.
